The Alligator Ron Bergeron Everglades Museum is to develop and operate a museum dedicated to conservation and preserving the history of the Florida Everglades. Our focus lies in educating the public and students about the cultural significance, heritage, and roots of this unique ecosystem. The museum will provide visitors with an immersive journey through Florida’s history, highlighting geological wonders and the diverse cultures of early settlers, Native Americans, Gladesmen, cowboys, and pioneers. We are deeply committed to highlighting the Everglades’ restoration efforts, with a particular emphasis on water conservation and wildlife preservation. Through engaging exhibits featuring art, artifacts, and interactive experiences with nature, our goal is to inspire a lasting commitment to safeguarding this vital and majestic ecosystem for future generations.

Ron Bergeron was raised in South Florida, home to eight generations of his family where they lived and breathed a culture within the elements of nature. He grew up in the small Town of Davie with a population of approximately 500 where his parents owned and ran a small grocery store. “There were more places to tie your horse than park a car in front of his store. My parents expected respect, discipline, responsibility and kindness.”
